We will impart the true meaning of this special day when Charlie is older, but this year, her Christmas was all about the presents.
We are so grateful to all our friends and family that thought about her this holiday. Cards and packages came from all over the country. Each time a new one arrived, I’d tell her “Someone in Florida (or Texas, or Minnesota, or New York, or Illinois, or California) loves you Charlie Grace!”
Here she is with some of her loot. Mike thinks she looks like a hindu godess of commercialism in this photo.
And here she is modeling a couple of her adorable new clothes.
My good friend Lilly got her the “Mystero predicts that you’ll be…” shirt. It is so clever. A small company called Wry Baby creates them. I think it is going to be my go-to baby gift from now on.
We started an education savings account for our little girl with the Christmas money she received. We joked that Charlie made more at Christmas than I earned all year long. Sigh. Sounds like new material for my “Artist: Unemployed” project. Seriously though, it is exciting to think about her going to college someday, and it was fun to research all the savings options out there. We settled on a Coverdell Education Savings Account. The money in this kind of account grows tax free. Seems like a no-brainer for all of us with kids that will hopefully go to college someday.
Charlie Grace also got to spend a lot of QT with her family over the holiday. Here she is reading with her Grandpa Bill and playing cards with her Grandma Debbie.
And here she is chillaxin’ with her mom and dad. What a great day, and what a sweet special girl we have.
