I had a shower in Amarillo a few weeks ago. It was so much fun. The little girl got two gorgeous handmade blankets, the awesomest stroller ever, some rockin high tops, a cute and cuddly car seat, and an endless bounty of other goodies. I got more cupcakes and cookies than I could dream of and to see so many people that I love. I felt so overwhelmed by gratitute and love. I hope my little girl could feel how many people already adore her.
The photo above is of my mom and me (at 34 weeks) and there are others in her Walmart album. FYI, they are probably only something family will enjoy looking through. I did love this one though.
We took Ann to my favorite restaurant. It’s called Country Pride and is on a little dirt road about half a mile from the farm where I grew up. It’s been around so long that my mom also went there when she was a little girl, and it feels as much a part of our family as a restaurant can. All of the food is amazing. I highly recommend the chicken fried steak, enchiladas, hamburgers, anything really. Everyone I bring here understands why I love it so much, but there is one controversial item on the menu–the mild salsa. I think it’s great, but I hear that some people (Mike, ahhhmm) think it tastes like catsup. Apparently, his sister agrees. We caught her taking her first bite. That facial expression is pretty priceless! If you ever get a chance to visit and have the same reaction, just order the regular salsa. It’s much more traditional (aka boring).
