the old and the new

One of the things I find most intersting about India is how the old and the new coexist.

At the Golden Temple, Sikh gurus set their holy text to music.  When you are at the temple, the music is piped in almost 24 hours a day.   The music they are playing is centuries old.  One day we were strolling and listening, and I guess there was a computer malfunction, because the Windows shutdown noise flooded through the speakers.  It was really surreal.

On the roads here, horse drawn buggies, herds of cattle, and bike rickshaws coexist with agro taxi drivers and no one evens thinks anything of it.

What a fascinating place.
